  • >50% of Marketers are using/experimenting with AI according to Salesforce report 🤖

Bard can now watch YouTube videos for you, so I decided to play around with it to see how it could help marketers. I found 2 use cases particularly helpful.

How to use Bard's new YouTube integration for upskilling

1. Key takeaways 🔥

Many, if not all, of the marketers I have spoken to tell me that a large part of their skillset originate from Googling or watching YouTube videos. If you have gone through the latter, you know how time-consuming it can be to watch 3-5 videos to find the particular sub-topic you want to learn more about.

One way to shorten down the watch-time is by asking Bard to list key takeaways in the video of interest. For instance, I tried the following prompt structure 👇:

What are the key takeaways for marketers in the following video: [insert YouTube video URL]

I used the prompt structure above for the How To Use The Google Keyword Planner in 2023 (Beginners Keyword Tutorial) video by Ben Heath, and got the following response from Bard:

Prompt: What are the key takeaways for marketers in the following video: [insert YouTube video URL]

2. Key timestamps ⏰

Another way to cut through the noise is by asking Bard to list the key timestamps in a given video. We all know how convenient it is for us when someone in the comments section has written out timestamps, especially for videos with longer watch-time. Now, Bard has the capability to do the same for us, but for all videos - without relying on someone else 🔥

For instance, I tried the following prompt structure 👇:

What are the key timestamps for marketers in the following video: [insert YouTube video URL]

I inputted the video from Ben Heath mentioned above, and received the following response:

Prompt: What are the key timestamps for marketers in the following video: [insert YouTube video URL]

Now, the prompt structure above might not work out perfectly every time, but it's a great start for marketers who want to decrease their YouTube-upskilling-watch-time.
