Arcane
tl;dr
The majority of Marketers are concerned that they might burn out. Now read that again.
The marketing burnout crisis is real. So real, 59% of those in entry and mid-level roles think they might hit the wall. This is particularly true in tech startups, where working in marketing can feel like running a marathon at sprint speed.
With the marketing sector moving a hundred miles per hour, many worry that there is no end in sight. We’re here to tell you that there is sunshine between the clouds. The answer? You’ve guessed it… *drumroll* AI.
So why is burnout amongst marketers at an all-time high?
Few sectors are evolving as fast as marketing (did someone just claim SEO is dead? (*trying not to faint*). As a Marketer, keeping up with new trends, tools, and technology can feel relentless. If that wasn’t enough: personalisation and omnichannel marketing have completely changed the game. Workloads are quickly piling up with the complexity of campaigns.
This 24/7 ‘always-on’ culture of real-time marketing makes it difficult for many to keep pace. With 83% of customers expecting an immediate response when engaging with brands, the pressure is on to be constantly present and responsive. That combined with notification overload from an increasingly growing marketing stack makes switching off feel impossible.
And we haven’t even mentioned content creation yet. In 2024, marketers aren’t just writing blogs. They’re now expected to churn out videos, podcasts, and social media posts faster than Usain Bolt. Add to this the constant pressure to prove ROI with shrinking budgets and you have a perfect storm for burnout.
So is it all gloom and doom? Before you hand in the towel to retain as a coach - let us reassure you. There is hope on the horizon 🌅
Enter AI 🦸
Like a knight in shining armour, AI has arrived to free up Marketers' time. You see, AI isn't just another tool in the Marketing toolkit – it's reshaping the entire landscape.
From predictive analytics to content generation, AI is automating tasks that once consumed hours of Marketers' valuable time. Tools like Runway, for example, speed up video creation while Amplitude uses AI to analyse customer journeys to identify friction points and optimise campaigns.
At Arcane, we’re building hundreds of apps to help Marketers say goodbye to time-consuming tasks such as content creation and research. By embracing automation, we aim to make work more enjoyable for teams. Integrating AI into marketing workflows doesn’t have to be a hefty task. Start small by identifying repetitive tasks that drain your creative energy. Then gradually introduce tools that allow for AI to take on more responsibilities.
Reimagine the world of work
As AI continues to evolve, the role of Marketers will too. By taking care of manual tasks and streamlining workflows, AI tools offer marketers the opportunity to reclaim their time and creativity. Routine tasks will increasingly be automated, allowing marketers to be more data-driven, efficient and customer-centric. While the challenge of keeping up with the ever-evolving landscape remains, AI can give marketers a more fulfilling career.
The future of Marketing is a delicate balance between leveraging AI's capabilities and human touch. It’s a new paradigm. And we’re here for it.
